Make Your Own Christmas Decoration - Hellie Toilet Roll

Shopping List:

  • White cardboard (180gsm will pass through most printers)
  • Scissors
  • Glue (hot glue is best but you need an adult!)
  • Glitter paper
  • Googly eyes
  • Glitter glue
  • Toilet Roll
  • Elastic

Make Elephant Christmas Decoration

DIY Christmas Card Book Character Craft

Instructions:

  • Click the image for a printable A4 template
  • Print on a colour printer
  • Cut out templates with scissors
  • Cut a rectangle of sparkly paper for the body
  • Glue the sparkly paper on the toilet roll (best with hot glue but can use gloopy glue and hold with rubber bands until it dries)
  • Stick on 2 x googly eyes
  • Stick on the hat (you could cut this out of shiny reflective metallic paper for a really nice sparkly effect)
  • Stick the head and feet inside the toilet roll
  • Drill holes in each side (use a screw or nail), thread the elastic through and tie in a knot
  • Decorate the feet with pink glitter glue

  • Metallic paper
  • Googly eyes
  • Coloured Card
  • Foam / Sponge

Instructions:

  • Click the image for a printable A4 template
  • Print on a colour printer
  • Cut out templates with scissors
  • Stick on 2 x googly eyes
  • Stick on the hat (cut from shiny metallic paper)
  • Cut and fold the coloured card to make the card base
  • Cut a rectangle of sponge to make it 3D
  • Glue sponge to card, glue Hellie / Queek to the sponge

Christmas Tree Cork Decoration Craft

Shopping List:

  • Cork
  • White Paint & paintbrush (spray paint works well too)
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue & glue gun
  • Glitter paper
  • Googly eyes
  • Thumbtacks / drawing pins
  • Ribbon
  • Sparkly pipe cleaner / rubber band / hair elastic
  • cotton wool
  • Marker

Instructions:

  • Cut ears & trunk from glitter paper using scissors
  • Stick on the trunk & google eyes with hot glue
  • Fold the ears so they stick out and attach with a thumbtack
  • Draw a mouth with a marker
  • Tie a bow from your ribbon
  • Thread the pipe cleaner through the bow and wrap around a thumbtack
  • Secure the hair to the top with the thumbtack/bow/pipe cleaner combo

  • Cut out templates with scissors (ask your parents to help)
  • Stick on 2 x googly eyes
  • Stick cotton wool balls on the body
  • For Hellie, stick glitter circles on her back feet, or use glitter glue
You might try variations of this with glitter glue, paints, crayons, or sparkly paper. Let your imagination run wild.

Hellie was made with printed pink on cardboard, pink cotton wool balls, googly eyes and glitter circle feet. All stuck together with gloopy glue.

This Hellie the elephant was made with black outlines printed on cardboard (to save ink costs), 1 spread out pink cotton wool ball, googly eyes and glitter glue decoration. You can use a glue stick but if you have the patience to let it dry, gloopy glue gives a nicer and firmer result.
